So, $900 + $350 = $1,250 for 13” M2 iPad Air (256GB) with MKB. Or, $1,100 for base 13” M3 MBA (256GB). If I could only have one, I would pick the MBA. Someday, that might change, but iPad and iPadOS are just not there yet for me.

As a result, I start with the MBA and add the inexpensive iPad 10 ($350), if I want a ”complementary” or “secondary” device.
Really comes down to personal preference. When iPads first came out, I used them to complement my MB. In time, I started using the iPad more and only used the MB for certain things (some things are better on a computer). When the first iPad Pro came out, the screen size made a big difference for me as did the Magic Keyboard when it came out. I haven't touched my MBA in years because I don't like the feel of it. The iPad has become more natural for me and don't see myself ever getting another laptop (I use a Mini at work).
