For me there is two important revolutions:

1 - I as fast as M1 so that means M1 users maybe will have 7 years or more of MACOS updates.
2 - Even if you are a very creative person and work for video for example, you can edit with 3 layers of 4k footage here, even if you are a teenager or poor. So this will democrat the creation for everybody.

In my opinion Windows and intel are in big troubles.

How is this better than my iPad Air for a general consumer?

Plus how is this usable for business use given the RAM restrictions?

Citrus was the only color that did much of anything for me today in the store.
A few "younger folks" were discussing colors next to me actually.

I don't know why Apple can't make more vibrant colors on these, or seemingly much of anything.

Citrus is good .. the rest are the usual bag of "really muted" and really not represented well by what you see online.
Is the Citrus more of a yellow green, or a greenish yellow?

I'm looking to buy a Neo. Old 65 year old eyes. Which color has the keyboard that has good contrast. Where the Key lettering on the keys is more visible. I don't want where the keys and lettering on them are too light, if that makes sense.

perfect for so many folks. teens, students, silver surfers. casual users. maybe just not us nerds on here! im sure we buy WAY more computer than we need.
But why do you think it’s not for you, when it is for other people?

What exactly would you be doing that it wouldn’t be suitable for? I mean actual tasks you do in daily work life?

Runs MacOS. Has a regular sized keyboard.

What business uses do you think require more RAM? To me “business uses” men’s a productivity / office suite and communications / correspondence app,and they’ll be perfectly fine with 8 gigs of memory.

I am 68 years old and I got the silver Neo. The keyboard is light but not vivid white (very slightly tinged gray keys). The letters are not black, however, they are kind of a medium gray. I don't know if the letters are darker on the other models. Hope this helps...

If in 2030-2035 Mac surpass Windows in terms of market share, remember that the Neo was the butterfly effect.

It’s for the students of today, creatives and content creators of tomorrow.

For me the trackpad comment is the most revealing thing in this review. It's not a Force Touch trackpad, but it's just as usable. That's the whole design philosophy in one sentence. Not the same. Just as good for what it needs to do. That's true of almost every component in this machine.

I am the same age and went for the Neo in dark blue 512 gb and traded in my M1 512gb Air. I really like the size and the ease of understanding the basic computer. I mainly use my laptop for internet, email and messaging when I travel. I just did not need or even want another Air or Pro because of pricing when I have such light use and this fits the bill well for my usage. Since I am a veteran I saved 10% and I went to the Apple Store ordered my Neo online with pickup in the store and after setup wiped the Air and walked out with the Neo.

Imagine releasing Neo's in bright primary colors and collaborating with Fisher-Price! Get 'em young and they'll always buy Mac!
