Yes, the Mac Mini is one year old today, without any updates, according to the Buyer's guide.

    It's ridiculous.

They need to update or kill it.

I just hope they give us a system with an X4500 GPU rather than the X3100

no, it turns one year tomorrow. You are forgetting leap year. Check the release date: 7 August 2007.

Let's give Apple just one more day before we implode in anger and desperation.

    Well, a little speculation.

But for the past week or two there have been refurb minis almost constantly available.

Right now i'm wondering if apple are trying to sell off (even new) mini stock as 'refubs', it's a decent strategy for inventory clearing.

At the moment i'm not sure wether to bite a refurb or wait for an update.

Funny photo. I really hope that update it instead of killing it.

If I could just plug and play with components that are compatible as listed as insanleymac without having to play with the Bios and use kernals (which i have no idea how to do unfortuently) I would have one in a heart beat :(

It's been all I can do to resist the $499 refurbs that pop up a few times a week. I just keep telling myself that I don't need it, I want it (the truth), and updates have got to be coming soon (hopefully).

Just get the Kalyway OS X image (but be sure to buy a copy of Leopard as well).

"Oh, no, here comes Tallest Skil again with his 'The Mac Pros weren't updated for 518 days!' garbage..."

Ridiculous doesn't even begin to describe it.

The Buyer's Guide has it wrong, actually. It counts the ADDITION of an Octore option as an update. NOTHING else changed.

Wow. Usually "Happy Birthday" brings good connotations, but in this case…;)

And a simple CPU/HD bump for the Mac mini counts as an "update" too? The Mac mini hasn't changed since the intel switch. Apart from CPU, RAM and hard drive bumps it's still the same exact motherboard with an extremely low-end GMA950 and no 802.11n.

    I forgot about that.

Apple has been really busy since intel, focusing in things like the iphone, and the macbook air. I'm sure they'll give it a real update eventually.

OK, today we may implode in desperation.

I have officially given up on a Mini update. Now I will wait for the Mac Pro update instead. <sigh>

    I hate noisy bulky towers.

Apple updating the mini seems to be a bit of a catch 22: They won't update it more frequently until it becomes more popular but it won't become more popular until they update it more frequently (i.e. they stop forgetting about it).
