Happy new year, just letting all the Macrumites that the calander switching over too '06 has not caused my iBook or iMac to crash nor microwave, fridge, watch nor toothbrush.

Lots of fireworks here though, couple more hours and you Sydneysiders will join us in 2006 glory well the rest of ya will have to wait a bit longer.

Na na na my country is more advanced in time than yours.

I was playing a game when the date rolled over, and interestingly, it froze up for a fraction of a second. I immediately realised what had happened - I looked at my watch and it was indeed 2006

The fireworks were also a hint :p

(Kiwi here)

Now now, no fighting in the colonies please! ;)

Happy New Year - it's still Hogmanay here in Sunny N. Scotland.

I could be cheeky and celebrate with Canada as well, not sure I could face another wee-dram at 8am GMT though.

Here's hoping that the new year brings a better year than last year for everyone!

For those that lost loved ones during the past year, may this year bring healing to the grief, and memories of the good times.

For those that lost their love during the past year, may this year bring new anticipation for finding the love of your life.

For those that lost their jobs during the past year, may this year bring new adventures and a better outlook on the future.

For those who suffered through tragedies this past year, may this year bring you a renewed hope.

May we all make good choices in the coming new year.

Little Britain tells me you invented the cat.

Still almost 12 hours until the New Year here! No big plans for me though, as I leave for Vegas tomorrow for gambling, partying, attending the CES, and all sorts of other fun stuff!

thank you for that MacDawg. i lost my two grandmothers this year, one this month. its been hard as we were all close. i appreciate your words, even though i know that they weren't directed at me specificly, they were touching.

I'm an hour-and-a-bit (UK/GMT/UTC time) but..

If everyone would link arms, and sing:

Should auld acquaintance be forgot,
And never brought to mind?
Should auld acquaintance be forgot,
And days of auld lang syne?
And days of auld lang syne, my dear,
And days of auld lang syne.
Should auld acquaintance be forgot,
And days of auld lang syne?

We twa hae run aboot the braes
And pu'd the gowans fine.
We've wandered mony a weary foot,
Sin' auld lang syne.
Sin' auld lang syne, my dear,
Sin' auld lang syne,
We've wandered mony a weary foot,
Sin' auld ang syne.
We twa hae sported i' the burn,
From morning sun till dine,
But seas between us braid hae roared
Sin' auld lang syne.

Sin' auld lang syne, my dear,
Sin' auld lang syne.
But seas between us braid hae roared
Sin' auld lang syne.

And ther's a hand, my trusty friend,
And gie's a hand o' thine;
We'll tak' a cup o' kindness yet,
For auld lang syne.
For auld lang syne, my dear,
For auld lang syne,
We'll tak' a cup o' kindness yet,
For auld lang syne.

Happy New Year!
