Hehe... It's a sweet old song... there's half a dozen different 'original' versions, since it was passed down through generations of families, although I think the version I've got there was the version sang to Robert Burns by an old man. Burns transcribed it and sent it to London. Apparently it was originally written in Ullans (the language of the Lowland Scots, as opposed to the Gaelic of the Highlands and the West).

Hehe... (you'll have to excuse me... I'm a bit of a history geek, and I love the ancient story behind some of the things we still call custom today)

Nice change for tomorrow though. Can't come soon enough, if it's 40°C at noon and the hottest part of the day has been around 4pm or 5pm of late....ergh....

UPDATE: 1:30pm 43.2°C (110°F) - That's it, I'm getting under a cold shower.

44°C (111°F) here now. Zee shower does nothing!!

Topped out at 45.2°C (113°F) today. Hottest day since 1939 - great way for 2006 to start, I pity the poor buggers with hangovers today, there was simply no escaping the heat.

Once again we put on arguably the best New Year's Eve fireworks display last night, can't be too far off everyone being in 2006 - it's a strange thought as it's now 9:00pm on the 1st of Jan.

So Happy New Year.

Happy New Year to everyone her at MR. Great Firework display.

..it's a little late for posting. 2:13....but better later than not at all....

well since its the new year i figured id add in my HAPPY NEW YEAR!! to everyone here and the best of wishes to all.
