It's a bit of a difficult question. Am I a happy user of of Time Machine? I am an undecided user. I checked "Working Appropriately" as it seems to be doing its job. But I will be a happy user when I have to use it and restore something. And unhappy when I find out the restore fails.

It's just as with other precautions, you just hope you don't have to use them. Or do you go: "Whoah.... I hope my house burns down" after you signed an insurance policy for it.

TM worked just fine, as advertised, while I used it. However, once SuperDuper became completely Leopard compatible, I turned it off and don't plan to use it any more because SD fits my needs more (and doesn't hog up my HD as much)

For those that may have issues with Time Machine locking up, stuck on "preparing backup" or other issues, I solved mine by repairing permissions on the boot drive and restarting. I also deleted the "..inprogress.. file on the TM drive. Everything went back to normal and the backup went quickly.

It's working as advertised, but I checked "major problem" because it doesn't back up my iDisk. Since I keep most of my most important files on iDisk, this is a pretty major problem in my book. At some point I'm going to have to consider getting rid of .mac entirely.

Used it this week to to recover some photos that mysteriously got deleted from iPhoto. While I plan to add SuperDuper to my backup process, TimeMachine demonstrated its value in letting me quickly restore a handful of photos.

I have a Drobo and TM works pretty well. Occasional errors about backup failed due to blah, blah; but I click Run Backup Now and it will work just fine the next time.

I would say Im a happy user. Had one little glitch with it right after I updated to 10.5.2 - it would literally take 20 min+ to prepare my backup for only ~100MB. But now its back down to normal preparing & backup times.
