My series 3 has recently started making a rattle sound when haptic engine is activated. Such as when receiving a notification. Is this normal? Sounds odd to me. Thanks

I had a series 0 and series 2 that did that. Almost like something came loose. I have a series 3 now that’s new and doesn’t do it.

Sounds like your Taptic engine is either failing or faulty. It should be a nuanced sound, but not to the point where it's rattling where it draws a concern. You're under warranty at minimum.

So my replacement makes the same noise. Must be the way it is. Not all bad. I have a nice shiny new watch.

So my question is, was your first Series 3 making a rattling noise later on when you owned it and wasn't doing it before? Or did you own your first Series 3 not long enough to notice the rattling?

On closer inspection the noise was hugely different. My original watch was defective. The replacement is much better.
