"Nearly edge to edge LCD display"?

To me it looks as if the XR has same edges than previous at the sides. And for the upper and lower edges, 3D touch panel doesnt looks much taller than the screen

As Apple user since 1998, it looks to me as a classic Apple move, they always offer really good products with some kimd of handicap, as it should be low RAM, extremly expemsive ipgrades (any mac ever), very old GPU (any portable since ever), lack of video recording (first 2 iPhones), wheather sealed devices... and so on

The trick is you can use your new toy for a while until yiu miss that standard feature they "couldnt add" because "the edge to edge LCD" thing...

Why would they remove 3D Touch even though it was included in all of the previous iPhone models?

Haptic touch should give a better simulation of 3D Touch but it would still not be the same.

Apple should remove the ‘wiggle to move app’ feature and replace with long press to open the contextual menu. The ‘wiggle to move’ feature gets accidentally triggered a lot. How often does one have to move apps? It can easily be an option in the settings.

My work provides me with the Google Pixel and on it long press opens the contextual menu just like 3D Touch on my iPhone. Of course 3D Touch implementation is better but no reason that you can’t have it on the XR.

If anything else, give us an option to turn off ‘wiggle to move app’. Too easy for a toddler to delete an app.

I'm not mad about it. I moved from a 6 Plus to an XR so I never had 3D touch. I have it on my watch but I've never liked the idea of putting pressure on the screen.

I don’t get it.
Is there a place you need to go enable this?????! I’m using a XR w/ 12.1.1 & am not getting this new feature.
I set up a bunch of reminders yesterday to go off every few minutes & tried pressing, tapping, holding, long-pressing, etc.
Nothing.
Only getting options after I swipe... same as when it came out of the box.

I actually like haptic touch better than 3D Touch. I've always felt a bit awkward pressing down hard on the screen, I only do that when I'm frustrated on the phone...

And...it will be interesting to see if the rumour is correct about 3D Touch disappearing from all models next year.

I love 3D touch. Big reason why I wouldn't go for the Xr.

Straight up as down!!

I downgraded for 3wks - currently. I’m y 1st to the iPhone SE (again) and this simplistic Haptic-Touch can easily be applied to the SE, which is supported with iOS 12 yet Apple is being kineiving and ignores these users.

When I upgrade to the X/XS this maybe my travel device, just in case I loose/drop it in the ocean or it gets stolen. Not too pleased some basic operation features are ignored on it, yet is prefer 3D Touch. Much more intuitive.
