It seems as if the major launch defect lies within problems with the Haptic motor. Software fix or hardware defect?

Tapticgate seems more appropriate as that's the alleged source of the issue.

In another thread it seemed that if the phone is unlocked the notification does not get sent to the watch because presumably using the phone and sees the notification there.

Maybe no problem at all other than people not understanding how it is designed.

whats the issue? If the watch phone is unlocked there is no alert on the watch for notifications (it says this on the watch app.)

most of these haptic "defect" threads are not defects, just improper set up.

They are just quick to blame the watch instead of themselves not knowing how to set it up.

My guess is this plus people wearing it too loose. But we'll see.

Had to be a gate eventually...

Make sure your settings are correct, have someone else try it for you.

OMG I Created a gate thread! (OPs thoughts)

I wish that stupid "-gate" suffix would die already. Anyone claiming to perpetuate should be tarred and feathered (virtually, of course :p ). For those that don't remember, Watergate referred to -where- the actions happened, not -what- happened. Anyway, rant off. Time to go tilt at some other windmills ;)

I was a little worried that the taptic engine seemed a bit weak after I got the watch this afternoon. I was used to the much more noticeable BUZZ from my Pebble.

I turned on "Prominent Haptic" in the Sounds & Haptics setting on the Apple Watch app, it's made a noticeable improvement.

So far, about 4 hours in, I've mostly acclimated to the haptics on the watch.
