Hello, all.

I have a Series 5 I bought used about a month ago, coming from a Series 0.

I’m not sure if the latest security update is the culprit, but as of now, I’m not getting all HAPTIC alerts that are supposed to be mirrored from my iPhone. The alerts show up on the watch (red dot), but I’m not getting haptic notifications for all mirrored notifications.

Below is only a list of notifications that I know for certain how they act, based on keeping a record. Also, just to be clear, I have ALL my settings set correctly to receive haptic alerts. This is an important note as many similar questions are answered with stuff like Do Not Disturb, etc.

Haptics Work:
Phone
iMessage
Calendar
Reminders
Timer
Activity
Stand
Breathe
Capital One
Yahoo Sports
Experian

Haptics Don’t Work:
Mail
YouTube
Twitter (this now works after having not for reasons unknown)
Walmart
Credit Karma
Apple TV

This is not a complete list because some notifications come rarely and I don’t have a record of whether they work or not.

Please help.

Thanks.

I had this issue too here's the fix
on iPhone Settings-Notifications-Messages-Sounds-Vibrations- and in there I just created a custom vibration.

Apple Watch haptics are tied to iPhone sounds. So if you've made a certain app's notifications silent through the iPhone's Notifications system settings, it will not produce a haptic on the watch.
Not sure why Apple does it this way, but it's been so since watchOS 1.0.

Thanks. I’ve tried this in the Mail settings, and I’ll see if that works. Unfortunately, you can’t change tones or vibration patterns for many apps, especially third-party apps.

Thanks for replying. All the apps I listed above have sounds turned on, so I’m still not quite sure what’s going on.

I did try the tip from the previous poster with the mail app custom vibration. Gonna see if that at least fixes that one.

Hi there. This worked when I used a custom vibration for mail. Any thoughts on getting haptic alerts working for apps that don’t have a custom vibration setting? Thanks.

I've been having issues for the past week with this as well, and I've tried doing the latest update on both watch and phone, rebooting both, turning iCloud Messages off and then back on again, and just tried the custom vibration for text messages. Still will only go to my phone, but not to my watch. If I open the Messages app on my watch, I do see the messages though. I have it set to "Mirror" in the watch Messages notification settings.

I can't figure out what combo will make my watch work again for getting Messages. It's annoying to pick up your phone and see that you missed an important text from 45 minutes prior (my stepmom was in the hospital last week).

I just sent myself an email and felt the buzz on my watch, so I'm getting those fine, but it's weird that Messages notifications are basically broken on my watch.

It‘s definitely frustrating. Mail haptics are working now that I created a custom vibration. But I’m pretty much at a dead end now since I can’t create custom vibrations for every app that that currently doesn’t work.

Hopefully we’ll get some other suggestions or a fix with another watchOS update.
