It's also worth noting that the 750 GB and 1 TB HDDs only spin at 5200 RPM.

Even if they do fit, performance vs. storage is definitely something to consider.

my first computer had 30mb. that was around 20 years ago.....

I'm fairly sure this isn't true. I remember that Macbooks seemed to only be able to take the thinner mobile drives.
