hard drive and disk utility question...???

I have a old 40gb portable hard drive and i was wondering how do restore it in disk utility so it shows up on both mac's and pc's????? -thanks.

This support topic from LaCie will help. Although, authored by LaCie it is so for all HDDs. In short, choose MS-DOS.

I have tried to use Windows Meida Player and I threw up.

i absoloutely love quicktime.

format it MS-DOS (which i believe formats it FAT16???)

then put it on a 'dows comp and re-reformat it FAT32 for optimum performance 🙂

OR

if you wanted it part mac part pc, partion it and format one side HFS journaled and the other NTFS or FAT32
