Hey everyone, I've just been using my Unibody Macbook on my bed and when i got off my macbook shook a little and i heard a click from the Hard Drive. So i shook it again (not too hard) and it made the same noise. The drive sounds spot on normally I'm just wondering if this is some sort of shock safe measure and is normal or if it's my drive failing. Cheers.
Yep. That's exactly what it is. A sensor detects a sudden motion and separates the components of the hard drive to (hopefully) prevent damage if dropped.
Not really, if the Macbook couldn't handle the vibration i gave it i wouldn't want to own one as it wasn't hard at all.
