Hi all,
I've been having issues with my computer suddenly getting crazy slow, finder not responding, Lightroom not responding. I'm trying to troubleshoot the issue. I would really appreciate assistance if someone can. Here's what I have so far:

I run Lightroom from my computer, MacBook 2015 13in Retina. I run Mojave OS 10.14.6.
I have all of my photos on an external hard drive. The catalog, caches and such are on the computer.

Everything has been working fine for years until yesterday. When attempting to build previews in Lightroom, it stopped responding. Finder stopped responding. Had to force quit both.
Now, everything is slow even without the external HDD.

I used Disk Utility to run First Aid on my internal hard drive and I get this message:
"First Aid found corruption that needs to be repaired. To repair the startup volume, run First Aid from Recovery. Click Done to continue."

Now this is in regular boot mode.
The devices look like this: APPLE SSD SM0128G Media > Container disk1 > Hardrive
So First Aid on this hard drive is what gave me the message.

When I boot in recovery, it looks like this: APPLE SSD SM0128G Media > Container disk2 >Hardive
First Aid here in Recovery shows everything is fine.

So a few questions:
1. Why can I not see "Container disk1" in recovery mode?
2. Why are there two separate containers?
3. Is Recovery mode scanning a different "Hardrive"?
4. How can I fix the problem I'm having?

Thanks

Its pretty full but there are 15gb free. System is taking up 56gb. Not sure why that is.

Check to see how full is the internal drive.

A drive that full is unlikely to perform well. Just for testing, temporarily move at least 100GB of files (that is, so your internal drive is less than 80% full) to an external drive and see if performance improves.

Also, please make sure your Mac is backed up.
