Hi all,

I got a Mac Powerbook G4 aluminum, purchased in 2005. The hard drive has now gone and I am not paying apple the sum of £200 to get it repaired. I have repaired various computers before and I am confident in my ability to do this as well. Anyway, I need to know what type of hard drive I need to purchase to swap this over. It's an 80GB as far as I know, and I am sure it is an IDE ATA.

I have found this:-

http://www.saverstore.com:80/product/20020421/Fujitsu-MHW2080AT-FUJ-80GB-4200RPM-8MB-ATA100-25--95MM

Would that be the hard drive i Would need and is it fully compatible?

Would appreciate any help on this 😀

Yes, that drive will work.

But you can also install bigger (more GBs) and faster HDDs if you want, you are not bound to the same capacity and RPM.
