Hey Macrumors,
Right now I am in the need of an external disk drive and external hard drive for my thunderbolt equipped macbook air.(I don't even think there are any cheap TB drives right now anyway...) So anyway I have a 75$ apple gift card so one of the things I buy will be from the apple store. (Keep in mind I am in Canada)

So basically I am leaning towards getting a Apple Superdrive. Can anyone suggest a cheap hard drive? (Keep in mind portability is a big advantage)

Has anyone used this?

Your link doesn't work. But if portability is a factor, I'd go with a 2.5" drive.

I'd imagine any would work. I can't recommend any particular makes as I tend to make my own external drives. I just purchase an enclosure and hard drive from my local computer store and put them together.

That said, any major, well-known brand should work. I've heard of people using WD and Seagate drives with little issues.
