Hard drive in sleep?

Anyone has an idea does it matter if I carry my macbook around when it is in sleep, does it affect the hard drive cuz I know shaking and vibration is no good for HDs...

It'll be the same as if it is off I imagine... the ram gets written to the HD when you sleep it, but then the HD is off - at I can't think of any reason why it would be on.

I shut down my macbook if I walk longer distances with it, I don't know why though, just overprotective probably!
