    Hello all!

So my 2008 Aluminum body Macbook has been having some issues lately. It has been really slow and eventually started making noises-it sounds like it's trying to start dial up internet. So, along with the help of a friend, I deduced that this was a problem of the hard drive. I bought a new hard drive and am prepared to install it, but have come across a problem. The single Phillips screw securing the hard drive bracket to the upper case will not unscrew (even though I am using the Phillips 00 size screw driver, as that is the size given). I am not sure what to do. I may have stripped the screw.

Does anyone have any advice or suggestions? I am attaching photos.

    Thank you!

that screw is now quite stripped. If you have the ability, you can renotch the screw to get it out and then replace it with another good one when reinstalling. There are also bolt out kits for this sort of thing but I am not sure if it works on screws that small.
