So as a new iMac convert from Windows I have a quick question. I have been moving lots of data around from drive to drive (trying to make up my mind where I want to put it) as in internal to external then maybe back. Anyway, I know that in Windows you need to do the defrag thing every now and then to clean things up. What, if anything, needs to be done on the iMac and where do I find it?

Thanks...just want to keep this thing clean and running at max speed ya know.

    Regards,

    G.

yep. while there is some defragging software out there for macs, it's really unnecessary and pretty much out there to give peace of mind to pc switchers who think they need to defrag.

the only thing i can really recommend to keep it running in top condition is to reboot it every once in a while. i'm the guy that never turns off my computer, ever. i just sleep it when i'm away. anyway, after a few weeks of that it seems to lag a bit sometimes, so i just reboot and it works great.

congrats on switching. i switched a couple years ago and i'll never go back.
