Hard drive replacement affecting battery life

I was thinking about upgrading from my stock 250g hard drive to a 500g. Would this affect my battery life at all or would it just be affected by the hard drive speed (5400 rpm to 7200 rpm) Also any suggestions as to what I should buy would be appreciated.

It shouldn't. Of course all drives use different amounts of energy but the differences are fairly small so I doubt you would notice the difference.

Western Digital's Scorpio Blue is a good drive and reasonable priced.
