    Hi,

    I have a 1 yr old MacBook Pro w OSX 10.5.1.

I boot it up at home, plugged in, and use it for about 90 minutes. When I leave, I put it to sleep and shut every thing else, like the monitor, etc down and pack it up. I make sure I "eject" any external hard drives, regular and Time Machine. When I get to the office, I replug it into an outlet, so the only time it's really on internal battery is for the trip from home to office, and reverse. I've noticed the past 2 days that when I get to the office and again, when I get home, the machine is hot as blazes and I can hear, what I think is the HD whirring away. I can hear it through my backpack, it's so loud. As soon as I plug it in, it "calms down," cools off and all is well. What's up??? And what should I do to avoid this????

    Thanks.

    Frank
