I have a brand new (or almost new) hard drive taken from a MacBook Pro 13 (n9400) that I had for a short time and well it became "destroyed" no fault to itself...

I have a older Mac Mini (Core Duo 1.83 i950) that works fine but the HD is toast...

Can I install the good drive from my MBP into the Mini and start it up and have it work just fine? Or does Apple not install older drivers in its factory install?

    Thanks in advance...

I can't promise you nothing because MBP and Mini uses different drivers. If you reinstall OS X then it'll work 100%

since they are both intel, they should work fine.

Try booting before you put it back together.

Or, if you want, pickup a cheap (under $10) 2.5" USB case, put the MBP drive in that, then boot the mini from it.

If it works, then no reason it cant go inside.

You know, a good 320 gig 2.5" 5400 rpm drive is only about $50...
