I just got my new uMBP 13, and the first thing I do is to put the old uMB HD, the computer boots, and everything works. But the FW800 is not working, the apple system profiler see the port, but when I attach something it cant see it. What can I do?, I dont have time to format now.

PD: I didnt apply 1.7, I dont know if my Western Digital 320 Black will be supported
PD2: The computer is way hotter than my old uMB

Good grief. Your uMB didn't have a firewire port. Why are you surprised your install isn't working in the uMBP? You need to do a reformat.

Isn't leopard supposed to detect this piece of hardware and load the correspond driver ?

For example when I swapped the hdd from my blacbook to my uMPB the multitouch trackpad was recognized.

it wont work. You have to use the disks that came with the 13' mbp.

Newer hardware

Once 10.5.8 comes out then you'll be ok. 🙂
