Hard Drive Upgrade MacBook

hey everyone,

I was just wondering if anyone had upgraded their hard drive in their macbook. I have a c2d 1.83ghz late 2006 13 white macbook and I need to change the hard drive to a larger model. Preferably 160gb or 200 gb 7200. Can anyone recommend a good drive?

They don't make 7200 rpm drives in either the 160 gb or 200 gb. For the 200 gb, they just started carrying the 5400 a little while ago actually, up from Apple's 200 gb 4200 rpm drive. This drive seems to be the most popular laptop upgrade.

Albeit in the UK, but I'd assume you have similar retailers in the US.

They certainly make 7200rpm drives in 160GB as apple themselves offer those as an upgrade option!

Just get on newegg and look around. Just about any 2.5" SATA notebook hard drive will work. Then just google for instructions on how to upgrade the hard drive. I did it on an old macbook and it was painless, except for removing the hard drive from the sled.
