I own three watches (listed in order of wear frequency)

1) AW Ultra
2) Series 6 SS - Gold
3) Series 7 Alu - Green

I also rotate with mechanical watches

I intended to upgrade my SS gold to Series 9 today… But I’m wearing that watch now, it sits at 55% battery after a full day of wear and I wear it once every week at most - why upgrade to 9 for an occasional watch?
Maybe I will wear it more but 9 vs 6 seems OK at best
I thought about upgrading my “dark” AW7 to something newer (maybe SS Graphite, maybe Hermes), but the value doesn’t seem to be there, especially for Hermes. I could do a Alu Midnight

The watch that makes the most sense to upgrade may be AW ultra as it still has relatively decent trade in value and I can get a new band.

Thoughts?

I would not upgrade from what you have. But each to their own - your financial and social position could be wildly different from mine. If the Ultra had come in a black... - but otherwise you're just going from one Titanium watch to another, for marginal upgrades. Not insignificant, but marginal.

Although... The watch based Siri is pretty decent IMO. 1) I live in an apartment building, so in the laundry there is no cellular coverage. Whether I have my phone or not, Siri on the watch (Set a timer for x minutes) is super hit or miss. This would fix that coverage based issue. 2) I was on vacation earlier this year with no data, and that's when I really noticed the non-Siri features on the watch. I used my phone to set reminders and it worked perfectly, but I could not set a reminder from my watch, which is what I would typically do.

I was considering getting Ultra 2 to replace my S8. I'm thinking that I won't as I wanted a larger screen and enhanced battery, but that Siri on watch feature does sound pretty decent.

I have AWU, S7 Ti and S4 SBSS, I order the Ultra 2 and will trade in the original Ultra… made that decision after I learned about the trade in value, but, YMMV

Got the stainless steel series 7 in Gold, stainless steel and graphite.

And then l’ve bought the ultra. Which I’d thought I wouldn’t like as it would be to big. It’s been the best Apple iwatch I’ve ever had, love it. But also it the first time I’ve ever scratched an Apple Watch and I’ve done this twice on my Ultra. Only on the edge of the face. So l’ve just gone and traded my Ultra for the Ultra two.

Happy Days

And no scratching my new ultra two

AW5 Ceramic White, AW6 SBTi, AW7 Ti. I see no reason to upgrade they all do what I need them to and They don’t offer the AW8 or AW9 in a material other than aluminum or SS. The aluminum with the Ion-X glass is a no go and the SS weighs to much, it seriously caused me wrist pain.

Series 7 in Gold Stainless, S7 in Graphite (45mm), S7 Graphite 41mm, and Series 8 Silver Stainless. All were hundreds of dollars off except for the S8 ($50 off). Getting a S9 in Pink Aluminum, using cash and a $230 giftcard. I wear a different watch every day, with the exception of my nightly sleep tracking S7 graphite. I’m 71 later this month and my watches make this old gal happy.

Two weeks of wrist curls with paper clips will help. Start with 2 and work your way up to 5 paper clips.

More likely though, it’s not the weight. It’s a pressure issue, or it’s in your mind. The extra 20g should not be causing discomfort.

I actually have the 7, 8 and ultra, but I’m trading in my 7 and getting the ultra 2 .

I have a Series 7 Cellular & Series 3 Cellular and I like the brighter screen but cannot financially justify any purchase at this time. :)

No need to upgrade your collection of three at all. But you probably want to.

I would not open my wallet this year but that is me. Enjoy whatever decision you make.

I have an s7 and and Ultra. I thought apples 380 trade in on the ultra was aggressive. Threw it on Swappa and sold in a day for 515. Not bad and a reasonable upgrade. I’m keeping my S7 edition for as long as I can!

I already got used to the stainless steel Apple Watch after trying it on several times in the Apple Store, and I also used to have an aluminum Apple Watch Series 1 but since I upgraded to my gold stainless Apple Watch, I never noticed the weight difference when I wear it, only when I take it off to change bands or put it on the charger. I always keep it polished with an eyeglass cleaning cloth that I keep near my band changing area and in my bag.

Somewhat of a fanatic here, started with an a series 8 midnight aluminum, which I now use exclusively for sleep tracking and have added an ultra, series 9 stainless steel and the series 9, Hermes in SBSS. Having worn heavy watches before, Rolex, Breitling I feel most comfortable with the stainless steel models.

Big time watch fanatic here. I always have one on my wrist. Using an ultra 2 and series 7 edition for sleep tracking.
