Portlandia here.

I went from 1st last year to 9th this year ? and my record last year sucked..

If this were the NFL I'd get a 1st round draft pick.

Oh well.

Yep, with our league being a redraft league it's basically brand new each year for everyone. If we had keepers and all that then I'd be open to considering letting the previous years standings have an impact on draft order.

I determine the order the same way every year. I use random.org to generate a random sequence from 1-10. This way everyone gets an equal chance each year.

Ask and you shall receive. :)

Draft Order:
1. Philly Thunder Horses
2. Dez Dispensers
3. Blizzard Nation
4. HarryPot
5. Whittier Poets
6. Texas Ground n Pound
7. mscriv
8. SoCal Californians
9. Portlandia
10. Berlin Pretzels

Please post your team name so that we can all know who is who between team name and MR user name. Obviously, if your team name is your MR username then we already know. Thanks.

Thanks mscriv!;)

Anyone knows if there is an app for making the draft from the iPhone?

Aye sir - just use the ESPN Fantasy Football app....its easy.

This is Dez Dispensers btw....ready to make up for the embarrassing showing I had last year. Was a poor overall year for my fantasy football teams

The open spot we had in the Hardware League has been filled. Please help me welcome BlizzardNation to MR Fantasy Football. I know he's excited about playing and from what I've heard could be tough competition. :)

Thanks letting me compete in this epic fantasy league! Good Luck and i am looking forward to compete against yall! WOO HOO!!

Allright folks, it sounds like Monday is the best time for most folks in this league. So, I'm thinking 10:00 AM Central Standard Time. West coast folks will have to be ready at 8:00 and for East Coast folks that would be at 11:00. I hope that doesn't interfere with too many people's labor day plans, but if we do Sunday then several folks will not be able to make it.

Draft Time - Monday 10:00 AM Central Standard Time

Hold your thanks until you see what you've got yourself into! ;)

Draft Time - Monday 9:00 AM Central Standard Time

Sounds good to me. I think I should start paying attention to the NFL now and figure out a strategy.

Still trying to live up to my past history of 2010...

Hard to believe we've been at this for 5 years going into 6!

Not griping but why does it have to be so early ? 8AM is rough for me. I can do it but it will be hard for me to be up at that time.

Any specific reason for the time ?

If enough people want to move it back an hour I'm open to that, but I was trying to find a balance between the coasts with it being a holiday.

Okay Everyone,

I wanted to detail some adjustments we are making to the league this year.

1. Decimal scoring: we are moving to decimal scoring to more accurately reflect offensive statistics earned. This means that players will earn points for every yard they gain or lose as opposed to only scoring for every 10 yards gained. Additionally, this method should virtually eliminate ties in the weekly match ups. Sure, it's still possible to tie, but highly unlikely when scores are now calculated to .00 totals.

2. Trade deadline: The trade deadline has been set for November 13th. This is earlier in the year than we have had previously, but the reason for the change is to eliminate any controversy surrounding late season trades between top teams and bottom teams in the league. The general rule of trading is that the transaction be free from collusion and that both owners be genuinely attempting to improve their teams. Trades late in the season involving teams that are already eliminated from the playoffs make these judgement calls difficult as there is no way an eliminated team can improve their standing. An earlier trade deadline should greatly improve this situation as most teams will still be in the hunt for a playoff spot.

3. Defensive Scoring: Defensive scoring has been slightly adjusted to the following point totals in regards to points allowed.

  • 0 points allowed (10)
  • 1-17 points allowed (7)
  • 18-27 points allowed (4)
  • 28-34 points allowed (1)
  • 46+ points allowed (-4)

I still need to set up/double check the final week to week schedule for match ups, but otherwise the league is pretty much set and good to go. Let me know if you have any questions.

I'll very probably manage to be in the draft! At least the first rounds I hope.

My best wishes to everyone.

This is starting out just like last year. So.

You guys better watch your teams because Portlandia is going to be making trade offers.

The only time I played against you last year I lost by just 1 point, I hope history doesn't repeat itself.
