I just bought a 2016 MacBook,I've noticed the lid of the MacBook (the screen) feels slightly loose when I keep it open at around 95 / 100 degree open, if I move the laptop or shake it slightly, the lid moves towards back a little.it appears the hinges are not too tight at certain angles causing the the screen section to move.
so does it happen with your too and I'm being too OCD or is the MacBook faulty?

And is the new one noticeably different from the old one?
yes the old one was defective and at certain angel became very loose.
the new one doesn't have that issue.
however, in general these 12" MacBooks don't have a very good and strong hinge.
compared to any other MacBook that I've seen they all have a kind of loose hinge.probably due to very thin form factor.

Thanks, I think the problem is that apple insists on one handed opening. With the base having only so little weight, the hinge cannot be very stiff to do that. I would prefer stiffer hinge and requiring two hands to open, but that may just be personal preference. I saw some reviews online lauding apple for the one handed operation, so looks like some people prefer that.
