Well, I purchased tickets for Friday, July 17th, 2009 to go see HP 6. They had none available until then. But still, it is not that bad (only two days after release date). Are you going, excited, ready? What do you think will happen or be the best part? Do you think it will be similar to the book or not?

Movie Information:

Name: Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince (HP 6)
Date: Wednesday, July 15th, 2009
Starring: Danielle Radcliffe, Emma Watson, Rupert Grint, Michael Gambon
Director: David Yates

Post your thoughts!:)

Actually looking forward to seeing it
The movies haven't been too bad really

The Half Blood Prince was actually my favorite of the books I think
So I am interested in seeing how they handle it all

I won't rush out right away, but I will definitely make time to see it

I'm a fan on the books, I've read all of them. Several times. The movies haven't been horrible, but I've disagreed with a lot of the artistic license they've taken when making the movies, and the inconsistencies in locations, looks and such annoy me greatly.

But to be honest, this new one looks quite "mature" and exciting. Hopefully it will be a good watch. :)

The Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince (Movie) Discussion

Who's looking forward to the movie? I've been re-reading the book this week to refresh myself.

I'm definitely looking forward to it. Although, all of my friends have either left the country or the state (and I mean ALL of them, I'm the only one left :() so I have to either wait or go see it by myself... Or I could make some new friends...

I'm looking forward to it too. Hopefully it will be a lot better than the last dismal attempt. But anyways, going by the trailers, it looks good.

Looking forward to it. I've gone to each one of them with an old family friend who gave me the first book way back when I was 10 or 11.

I was born in 1988...which meant I was almost exactly Harry Potter's age when the first book took off in the U.S. (1998ish). I kind of grew up along with the characters, the last book coming out in 07 when the characters were 17-18 and I was 19. It certainly gave me an appreciation for how accurate Rowling's characters (and their issues) were for their ages. Now I'm only a little older than the actors playing the characters in the movies, which is fun as well. I guess I should go back and review some of the stories...I haven't since I re-read the entire series prior to the last book coming out.

Exactly the same story here. We're even born in the same year. :)

I'm rereading The Half Blood Prince right now and am rediscovering quite a few details. I'm looking forward to the movie, though I am always disappointed to see what they end up cutting.

I'd love to re-read it but I can never bring myself to re-read books when I have so many others that I haven't read at all yet.

I've read the book twice. I can't wait, i'm hopefully going to the midnight showing :)

Emma Watson <3 :D

I am looking forward to it; I have read all of the books and loved them, and the movies are not as bad as I had feared when I first learned the books were to be adapted for the wide (silver?) screen.

Cheers and good luck

For people who cannot see themselves re-reading the book before the movie comes out, I would highly recommend you listen the to audiobook performed by Jim Dale. I grew up(born in 1991) listening to those on my 1st generation iPod before going to sleep.

They are as good as the movies in conveying the dialogue.

I hope they get the climax right. If they do it'll be sad to watch, and so it should be.

Oh yes, and Emma Watson is magnificent...she was amazing on Jonathan Ross!
