Fine play

Equus is an excellent play. If Radcliffe pulls it off (no pun intended) it could add serious gravitas to his otherwise pedestrian acting career.

Equus, its one messed up play about a messed up boy who starts worshipping horses, I wouldn't mind seeing "harry potter' in that role the kid is pretty messed up in the play and harry is a pretty messed up character/kid too, so he should be able to pull it off easy...

He must not be Christian. First witchcraft, now bestiality. Doesn't exactly have the best track record.
You're kidding right? You do know he's just an actor right? You aren't the same poster who complained that the "I'm a Mac" guy once took a role as a crossdresser are you?

im pretty sure hermione is 17 aswell. and yes, legal age is 16 in the UK for smoking, lottery and 'intercourse'. Not sure if i can say the other word on here :p

17 to drive, 18 to drink and gamble.

boy i hope photos don't leak all over the place from this. you know it'll be taken out of context (how could it not :p ) and i can just see all of the kids trying to figure it out.. "MOMMY! What is Harry Potter DOING..!?"

perfect :D that movie sounds really weird, and kind of pointless!

Just go rent Equus the movie and you'll see that there's no beastiality involved. It's actually a very delicate and sensitive movie.

Equus

Many years ago, in a middle eastern nation, an amateur theater group I did stage crew work for, decided to do that play. As the youngest male in the theater, I was chosen for that role. It's a rather impressive psychological story. The play is based on some true event that the playwright (Peter Shaeffer) had only gotten a snippet of. And while the play may have no resemblance to the actual events (the person who relayed the original events died before the details could be related, and the play was written to try to explain the event), it's still a very good show.

A very interesting experience. It's a fascinating play, go see it if you get the chance (and not just for the opportunity to see someone naked).

well the boy has to diversify his career somehow, lets just hope he can act because his role as Harry hasnt impressed me much thus far.. Have any of the other HP cast members done any other acting?

I kind of know 'Equus' - it was one of the old productions of the American National Theatre of the Deaf / DeafWest, and I saw some video clips of it.

It was amazing to see the horses recreated through props and sign language.

The lead actress, Phyllis Frelich (also deaf) went on to lead 'Children of a Lesser God' when it opened on Broadway.

In the Hollywood film version, her part was acted by Marlee Matlin, who now stars in 'FB Eye', a series on a TV near you about a deaf FBI employee.

When 'Children of a Lesser God' came to UK theatres many years ago, the lead part was acted by a British deaf actress, cos it had to be in BSL (British Sign Language) not ASL (American Sign Language, a very different language to BSL).

That British actress is now my partner. Guess I'm now only 4 degrees seperated from Harry Potter :)

There has been a lot of talk in the community about Radcliffe's ability to continue the films past this one, the next at most. I think his acting has improved quite a bit, but I do think he has to branch out as not to get pigeon-holed.

He's an attractive kid and a decent actor. If you have the goods to play a nude role, then I say go for it.
