In its case.
My last iPhone was the 8 Plus, and I kept it in some of the best cases - Spigen, Otterbox, LifeProof. The iPhone 13 seems to be quite a bit more sturdy than the 8+ (if YooToob vids are to be believed), so instead of an expensive case I've put it in a clear $11 generic "mall" case. I've had my 13 for only two weeks - those of you that have carried a 13 since they were introduced, do y'all recommend a fully protective case like the ones mentioned, or am I good with the cheapo - or even no case at all? The blue iPhone 13 is so purty I'd hate to cover it up . . . .

With apple care I think you can go caseless, but without I think it’s pretty risky.

I talk for myself, but I hate even the smallest of scratches.

I always hate rocking a phone case but do so anyways. This year I decided **** it let me rock it caseless and the first trip I took to the gas station, I dropped my phone on the concrete. Two little cracks in the frosted glass. SMH

Ouch!!

If you don’t mind paying extra for Apple Care and aren’t OCD about minor scratches, chips and dents then you can go caseless. Imperfections bother me so I always use protective cases.

For the ones bothered about small imperfections, wouldn’t it just be better to use it caseless until that happens and then slap a case on to hide them? Out of sight, out of mind and all that?

OP here -- I decided to case it up. I bought my last iPhone (8 Plus) with the purpose of keeping it for 5 years, and I bought my 13 with the same thought. Even though it seems very, very sturdy, I think I'll keep it cased so it has a chance at a 5-year run. Additionally, a pristine device tends to sell for more $$$ on ebay. My 8 Plus actually had a 3 year 9 month tenure in my pocket - and it sold on ""The Bay" for over $200. (TMO had offered $75 trade in --)

The case I ordered is the Supcase Unicorn Beetle, clear, based on the very high quality of the Unicorn Beetle case I got for my Watch series 5. Supcase seems to be a quality house, although I never even heard of them before three weeks ago.

Using my 12 mini caseless most of the time (I have 4-5 cases that last 1-2 days on before being removed again ?): a dent on the frame from a big fall on concrete is the only scar since January 2021 ??

Case less but on the 12Pro. Got screen changed for $29. Only worn out parts are steel frame and camera bezels. Not too shabby. Will get the back swapped before ac expires
