    Is it just me?

Firstly I thought I was really picky with my iphone, but now I have this ipad I'm a nervous reck when someone picks it up. I always suggest my girlfriend to sit down when using it. Then she says "Don't worry, i'm not going to drop it". When she says that I am even more scared.

I'll be the first one to buy the rubber speck cover when it comes out.

    Am I alone?

I forgot about all the people who will want to play with it. You're not alone.

    Dropped mine tonight!!!

Do not!!! I repeat!! Do not!!! Try to lean your pad against something on your desk to watch a video. Did so and i think the sound from the video actually vibrated my iPad off the desk. Doah!!! Now I have a nice gash in the corner of it. Cool!!!

I did notice that the thing has major vibrations, so I can totally believe that story happening. I'll probably be a bit of a wreck also.

I didn't drop it, but the first thing I did this morning was drop the charger on top of the screen. Luckily there were no dings, dents, cracks or scratches afterwards.

WRONG. That's what people said about iPhone / iPod touch.

    However, in real life:

    The iPad is way heavier!

Update: Check this guy out, drops the iPad on the ground and you can already see the screen crack. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XGUppxoJUVg&feature=player_embedded

The iPad is not that much different compared to the iPhone in terms of hardware design to be honest. I guess it's not as tightly packed together, but that's still not the difference between a feather and an egg.

Which isn't to say that they never break, everyone's seen a broken/cracked iPhone right? (I don't even mean on here, I mean out there in the world)

So, I'd say just don't drop it. You only have to be unlucky in the way it falls once.
