I bought one last year after getting my X.

It was fake even though the packaging was spot on. Couldn’t read any of the printing inside the case.

Talked Amazon into letting me destroy it.

Replacement was OEM.

Was it the real deal or a fake?

I did for an iPhone 8 version. Seller was Amazon so I assumed it was genuine. But mine was super slick and slippery. It does sound like its mixed if people get a grippy vs slippery leather case..

That was what made me question the first case i got from Amazon as well. It was very slick. Tried to oil it up and that did nothing. I finally scratched it and it pretty much self-healed.

Yeah.. Makes me prefer to just go to Apple store just for a peace of mind that’s it’s genuine.

The case I got did smell real nice. But I didn’t want to play case lottery via Amazon.
