this MacBook is 2 days old and I'm hearing this odd sound. Can it be fixed or does this sound like a replacement type issue through apple?

Dunno why it’s making that noise at all. I’d return it. My brother’s MacBook doesn’t make any noise whatsoever.

Exchange it. Whatever is the source of that noise, it isn't a normal operating noise. I don't think Apple would question a return/exchange for it.

fanless? it has two fans inside and the noise sounds like a broken fan or something inside the fan.

either way - exchange it.
The MacBook is fanless by design. If it’s a MacBook Pro, then it has fans, but he didn’t specify the “Pro” moniker, so I assumed.

I just returned a 13" MBP a few days ago for this same issue. It was a BTO, which means it would have been recently manufactured (not store stock which potentially could be weeks or months old). Your report of the same makes me wonder if this may be a wider issue affecting some of the more recently produced machines.

Try using Macs Fan Control (which does work with T2 Macs) to test one fan at a time. For me, it was the left fan making this noise; the right fan was fine.

the subforum is ”macbook pro” and as you can see from the vid, it has a touchbar, so it is macbook pro.

Sorry guys for the late response! Yes this is a 2018 MBP with an i7/Vega 20/32GB

Ok so I checked with Apple and they told me to bring it in.

I bought the computer from Adorama so I thought I was going to get drama....but nope! I gave them my case number and they're giving me a full refund!

Gonna order another and hopefully I don't get issues! Wish me luck guys!
