I haven't tried the app though I'd definitely suggest against it, the CPUs look after themselves and turbo/throttle as and when it needs to.

Are you having a problem with temps on your Mac that is making you consider this? If you are would you be happy to screenshot the temperatures/CPU usage and advise what model of computer you have?

No, I'm not having any temperature issues.

Was just interested in this app as an easy way to boost performance when a little extra oomph is needed.

Ah right. The CPU will auto-oomph so don't worry too much. :)

Bottleneck is always the hard-drive anyway so if you don't have an SSD you wouldn't even see any benefits.

Yes, I know that normally, turbo boost is automatic. However, this also means a bit unpredictability as to when or if the CPUs are in turbo boost. An app that allows for manual control of this would give the user total control.

I'm already using an SSUBX in my Mac that gives 1400-1500MB/s reads and writes.
