I just read an article and it says the 2017 models are experiencing throttling. I haven’t noticed anything of the sort with my 8+ yet.

I was reading that once you experience a random shut down due to the battery, then the throttling will enable. However you can go into the settings to disable.

If you experience issues again with random shut off, throttling will automatically re-enable. So until your first random shut off, you don’t have to worry about throttling.

I’ve never experienced throttling on my 6s that has a 3 year old battery (92% capacity) so I’m sure my 11 month old X (98% capacity) won’t do it for a long time either. Throttling only happens when your battery has degraded enough that it cannot handle the load under certain heavy cpu use conditions
