I've gone 3GS (never gave display size any thought then) --> 5 (checked out life sized images to convince myself it would be an ok size, wanted to keep iOS but wanted a bigger screen) --> 6S Plus (knew I'd dig it, finally an iOS phone with a truly large screen, worried about carrying it around instead lol)

Love the 5.5. Now that I've lived with managing carrying it around since Dec 25th size is a non issue. I've carried a police scanner almost everywhere I go since 2009 though so in retrospect I shouldn't have worried at all about adjusting to carrying a large phone.

I have the 6plus for personal use and the 6 for work. I enjoy the 6 plus as it is made for my use which is reading, media/social content. I enjoy the size and hope it is kept for future iterations. BIGGER IS BETTER :p

I went from a 5S (My first iPhone) to a 6 Plus, now I'm going back to the SE but I'm going to keep my 6 Plus around for a while just in case.

For my use, I would rather have something smaller and easier to carry and have my tablet nearby, than having something as big as my 6 Plus all the time where I don't fully utilize it all the time. I do wish they would have slimmed down the SE to be as thin as the 6S but I love the design regardless.

As soon as the 6 Plus came out.. Went from 5s to 6 Plus, haven't looked back since.

Also got the 12.9" iPP as well coming from the Air 2. I'd doubt I'll be going back to a smaller form factor.

I went from 5C to the 6 plus and so I guess I have some history behind me to comment on the positives and negatives with such a large phone.
First the positives - the screen is gorgeous, and using iOS on such a device can be very enjoyable. Surfing (what little I do) is much better. Reading, with some getting used too, you can read on the phone, much more enjoyably then the 4". The camera with OIS is a nice benefit.

The negatives, its BIG, and while I adjusted to it, I've grown tired of needing to pull the phone out of my pants pocket to sit in a car, or sit in a restaurant. I don't wear tight jeans (I'm an old man at this point :p). I thought the larger display would be beneficial to my old eyes but surprisingly I still needed to pull the glasses off to read. One handed usage is not that great. Yes, you can do some of it, but its not as comfortable as the a smaller phone.

The verdict, I'm going to be selling my Plus on Swappa once I get the SE

went from 5s to 6s (huge mistake but was kind of forced on many of us by Apple only producing at that time new 4.7 and 5.5 phones) and now happily going back to 4" SE. I can deal with huge phones (had samsung Note once but after few months I felt like I was carrying a thin brick or paperback book) but overall I like practical least annoying and most comfortable phone and that is 4" phone. Happy for SE

also, regarding easier reading, I read perfectly fine at smallest font on 4" while I have some coworkers haha who have their phone 5.5" plus version at largest front and even bolded haha so there you go, large phone does not mean easier reading

I went from the 5s to the 6s (not plus), and it just doesn't fit in my pockets. I don't (yet) have the problem of needing reading glasses with my phones, but I always have my glasses on, anyway. I'm pretty sure I'll go back to the small form factor when this phone bites it. My wife loves her 6, but she puts it in her purse. I'm positive it doesn't fit in women's jean pockets.

I'm thinking about getting a 7 Plus later this year but am worried it will be to big. I like to be able to put the phone in my pocket and forget it's there.

Ive been using 6s plus since it release and absolutely hate it. Its too big and unwieldy. While it does offer a much better battery life, 6s is much, much better in the usability department. As long as you are not on a long trips, 6s will get you through the day. You can add mophie case when you need the battery life and have a small phone when you need it.

That's pretty much my opinion too. The 6s is a great combination of screen size and portability. If its battery life were just a bit better, I'd have zero complaints.

Agreed. If thwy would put a bigger battery in 6s, like what samsung is doing with galaxy s7 and its 3000mah battery, it would have been the perfect phone. In fact, if apple had an iphone the size of galaxy s7, which imho is the perfect size, iphone woud be the only phone i would ever need for years to come.

I went from 5S to 6 which wasn't too bad.. I then went from 6 to 6S Plus and I have not enjoyed it. Sold my 6S Plus and ordered the SE, the perfect size.

Many of you will ask why I didn't just keep the 5S.. Well I didn't know Apple would ever release an updated 4" model so I tired to get used to the bigger sizes and everyone told me I would get use to the bigger size...

I went from the 5s to the 6+ and had no regret. I had both iPhones in my hand and I was debating over the size.

I was thinking is the 6+ to big decided to go for it, thought at the time if I don't like it I'll just sell it. After an hour of playing around, I loved it and knew from then I'd most likely go for the bigger size iPhone.

Hence why I now own a 6s+ :p

I went 5S to 6 on release day to 6+ in February of last year to 6S on release day. While I enjoyed the better screen and battery life of the larger phone, the size trade off wasn't worth it to me. It seemed cumbersome, I dropped it a few times, and it didn't fit well in my pockets.

My wife on the other hand went from a 5 to a 6+ to a 6S+. She love the larger phones. She uses a heavy duty case and throws it in her purse, so the size isn't an issue for her.

So strange how we've used almost the same size iPhone for so many years and now we feel like it's way too small...

Went from 6 to 6 plus then 6s plus and never going back. Loving the size.

You must have really tiny pockets, I've got a 6S Plus and fits fine in my pockets in jeans, joggers and jackets.
It's either that or I just have really big pockets .

Definitely, I'm a lot bigger than when I was in my thirties ;)

I much prefer the Plus sized iPhones, in my pit shovel sized hands, they just feel right. When I need to do something for the wife on her normal 6, it just feels tiny. I've got a 4S that I use for testing during development and it's like a Fisher Price my first iPhone:D

But it's all what suits the individual best, we're all thankfully, different.

haha off course you (and I ) can fit huge phones in pockets but the question is is it comfortable, is it annoying and does it feel heavy etc..I was pretending for a while that my Samsung Note is comfortable but after a while you realize man this is like a brick almost....on all points yes and that is why I happily going back to SE. I mostly use macbook pro for all other internet stuff. And I realized larger phone does not mean comfy and cosy reading, I read perfectly fine on 4" especially as it is easier to hold for occasional 5 min read unlike huge phone which makes your hand tired. But, it is good to have choices. Personal feeling is that phones will be again smaller but with improved specs and what it can do.

Okay, fits in my pockets, but it makes sitting problematic. When I first got it, I wasn't using a case, so I'd just slip it in my front pocket. The first time I tried sitting in my car, I realized that wasn't going to work since my leg bends in the middle of the pocket. I switched to my back pocket, and sat on it twice not remembering where it was. I don't want to have to dink with my phone every time I stand up or sit down.

iPhone 5 --> iPhone 6+ --> iPhone 6s+.

Got used to the Plus in 5 minutes. I will never go back to the smaller size. I love my iPhone 5, but now it's just too small.

PS. I never used cases, I hate them. I'm careful with my phone. Been six months since I got the 6s+ and it still looks the same as the day I got it.

I was clumsy at one point with my 6+, dropped it and cracked the screen, but in four years of having iPhones that's the first time that's ever happened.

Good to hear. I'm planning to go from 5s to 7 Plus :)
