Just curious if anyone has had any luck in selling their series 3 steel.

I’m having a helluva time getting any interest in my space black watch had some dope offer me $230 on swappa. I mean like really?!

You will be sorely disappointed. I couldn't get more than $280 for my Series 2 Stainless Steel with Apple Care and all original packaging. I will be sitting this upgrade out as I am not giving away my Series 3 LTE.

AW is losing its value over 50% after the first year! no joke, the worst Apple product if you are thinking that you have a good resell value like their other products. I see LTE 3 offered for less then 50% even the stainless steel ones. ik could snatch one up for around 150 to 180 USD now in hong kong. I think for the AW we just need to accept its a disposable object for the next few years still so, you buy it and you use it to the fullest and then buy another one and sell it with a big loss or hand it down to family/friends.

Yeah it just sucks LOL. I’m all my years of having  products I’ve never seen the resale value plummet so much.

I plan to get the series 4 and that thing is lasting me minimum three years.

Apple is offering $250 for trade in, plus you get to keep the band and charging cable. You can always request the trade in and still try to sell on eBay or Swappa to see if you can get more before you send yours back to Apple. I paid $700 5 months ago for the watch. Crazy...

Yeah its unfortunate, 3 years honestly, i dont think thats realistic. Its a newish hardware that is under constant high changes. i think tops 2 years max. I plan to upgrade it every year, the S4 LTE will be my first. I go for the cheapest version and then just hand it down to my kids and wife so we can use walky talky.

Yeah its a very seasonal product, plus its a electronic wearable that becomes obsolete very fast. Its not like a iphone 6 which is already very mature and still fast under ios 12. the AW watch still needs alot more development to become a fully mature device (needs to be much more stand alone)

Well I did use my S0 for about 2 1/2 years. I already got a plan for the next watch after the S4 haha.

If you went to sell it Three months back then 300-350 was possible
Soon as the 4 was announced prices slid 50-100 bucks
More for Stainless.

Sold my Stainless Steel Series 3 for $415 about 2 weeks ago.

Right now is the absolute worst time to sell. I would hold on to it for a couple of months and try to sell after the hype has died down and supply dries up a bit.

Where did you get that? If you don’t mind me asking.

User an app called Mercari

Got plenty of lowball offers and annoying people saying I wouldn’t get more than $250.

Started out at $450 and gradually reduced he price. took about a week to sell. Keep in mind this was before the announcements

Cool. I’ve sold stuff plenty of times hell last year I got 175 for my S0 Space Black which I think is pretty good after two years considering how fast these drop.

I just didn’t want to be without my watch for two to three weeks that’s a lot of activity loss haha.

that has been the worse... had a chance to look at the bleak state of fitness trackers like the myriad of fitbits and others.

honorable mention goes to the Amazfit Bip, a basic but useful $80 smart watch with an always on reflective display and a 2 week battery life.

I ended up using a Polar A370 because I use a heart rate monitor (polar h10) for workouts and this tracker connects to it to show my HR and zones...

... man i miss my AW :(

Yeah I’d be lost without it haha. Guess I should get a cheaper older AW so I can sell the most current one I have and use that on me in the interim.

its hard to sell now....
i got mine 2 months ago (SS S3 42mm) (2nd hand) only but good thing i paid 780SGD (USD 560) with applecare+ and milanese which i sold.. and some free bands... i paid roughly SGD 500 after i sell milanese some almost unused bands that 1st owner gave me.. im trying to sell now haha... to get series 4 ... but i think i will wait until someone grabs it and i will get series 4....

You're asking for too much. The aluminum one starts at $279. You want $350. A lot of people don't know the difference in aluminum and stainless steel. They probably don't even know that the mens' version costs more. They just saw "Starts at $279" and are looking for something cheaper than that.

Sell it with the cheap plastic band, and keep the nice bands. You can get the same knockoff bands on amazon for a tenth of the price - you won't get back what you are wanting for an official one.

It's not really the men's version though, just the larger variant. I know women who have the 42mm and men who have the 38mm.

you can try swappa as well to sell it but your prob looking at 350. Apple trade-in is giving 250 for it and you dont have to give the bands. which isnt that bad

I have had my series 0 for 3 years now and it is still working just fine. Only problem is I wil not be able to update to IOS 5. I bought the SS because i like the look better not to mention I have never had a screen protector on it. Don’t like them at all.
