I truly regret “upgrading” to the 12 Pro Max because it was less comfortable in the hand and that first gen 5G modem was a total battery hog.
It introduced 5G but with a reduced battery capacity...

The best 4G no-home button with 3D Touch is iPhone XS Max while 4G no-home button no 3D Touch is iPhone 11 Pro Max

The contenders for 5G iPhone with great battery life are the iPhone 13 Pro Max, iPhone 14 Pro Max, iPhone 15 Pro Max

Forget everything that I have said before...

I will be moving from iPhone 14 Pro Max to iPhone 13 Pro with better handling winning me over bigger battery...

I will also give up iPhone 11 Pro Max in favor of iPhone 13 mini, again, better handling vs bigger battery...

If the iPhone 16 non Pro version came with a triple camera system and ProMotion, I’d consider dropping my Pro Max. Then again it’s not like there is a huge financial saving as the non Pro iPhones are now pushing £1k.

I kinda miss the 11 Pro series of iPhones. The curved sides with the matte finish on the back makes it such a premium feeling device. I might downgrade my 15 for a 11 Pro Max but I’m still on the fence about it. When I do the math, I’ll lose some money with this move but whatever, you know?

I’m wondering if anyone has downgraded before or had the feeling to do so?
Yep, have a 14 pro in transit to replace my 15 pro. Just don’t like the feel of the titanium and I regret the blue color choice. Back to space black!

We were given SEs at work - mainly just for calls and email.

But do I miss that size and the home button - it’s the perfect size for on the go.

Tim how about an iPhone Mini Pro!

Never, absolutely loving my 15 Pro Max.

I truly enjoyed using my Xs Max and my 11 Pro Max with their rounded sides, while I found my 13 Pro Max a little hard to use without a case due to straight sides and sharp edges.

I find the 15 Pro Max to be a nice combination, it has straight sides and rounded edges, while being lighter than previous Pro Max iPhones (excl. Xs Max), it is by far the easiest iPhone to use without a case, IMO, so no, don’t feel the need to downgrade.

Almost 4 months later, I'm thinking of switching from iPhone 13 Pro to iPhone 11 Pro Max or iPhone 11 Pro for some cash...

Going back to an older model:
  • Smart HDR 4 to Smart HDR 2
  • Dolby Vision HDR to SDR
  • ProRAW [DNG] with HEIC/JPEG to only HEIC/JPEG
  • Qualcomm modem to intel modem
  • 6GB RAM to 4GB RAM
  • A15 Bionic to A13 Bionic
  • Night mode [3 cameras] to Night mode [2 cameras]
  • 3095mAh to 3969mAh [13 Pro to 11 Pro Max]

I would do it for the rounded sides.

I couldn't and wouldn't downgrade. I've just got the 16 Pro and it's my favourite iPhone ever, I think they've nailed it with the 6.3 inch screen size. The battery for me has been pretty amazing too.

Several months later, I didn't know until late that you can shoot RAW, not ProRAW by using a different camera app other than what is offered by Apple... After testing several apps, I went with two: Moment and ProShot...

Moment - can shoot RAW and Dolby Vision HDR but output is not 60fps even after setting it within the app
ProShot - can shoot RAW and Dolby Vision HDR and with my limited testing, it can shoot 60fps unlike Moment

I should have tried actual RAW before switching from iPhone 14 Pro Max to iPhone 13 Pro but it is what it is... I primarily used a Nikon D5500 DSLR camera prior to trying mobile photography with the iPhone 14 Pro Max...

I'm looking to keep the iPhone 11 Pro Max until it is not worth getting repaired when it breaks or I can finally purchase iPhone 16 or something newer...
