So, here's my situation: I have a thirteen-year-old AOL e-mail address that I've used as my primary (as in I pass this e-mail address out everywhere and to everyone, and I let my spam-filter take care of the junk that I get, as opposed to the e-mail addresses that I use and give out sparingly) e-mail address for that time. Said e-mail address has been my AppleID for most of that time period. Naturally, I sign up for iCloud on my iPad 1 with this AppleID, but I decide that maybe I want to start the slow and arduous process of migrating away from one e-mail address to another, and so I activate the iCloud mail and thusly make my free @me.com address, which is automatically added to the iPad 1's Mail app. Awesome.

My Mac mini is still running Snow Leopard (I'm going to likely sell it and get a MacBook Pro in the near future, and I figure that rather than buy the upgrade for a computer I'm going to get rid of, I might as well just wait until Lion comes pre-loaded on my next Mac, being that I plan on making said purchase in the very near future), and in addition to that, I have a Toshiba laptop running Ubuntu (with Thunderbird 3) and a Motorola Droid. I've attempted to get the @me.com address to work with all three of these (I haven't yet tried on my iPod touch which is still running iOS 4.3.5), and all three of them complain either that the server has timed out or that my password is incorrect. Among the plethora of iCloud mail problems, is anyone else experiencing this one? I'd love to have this e-mail address ready to go on all of my computers and gadgets, especially the ones that aren't invited to the iCloud party.
