Tried this on multiple 15 Pro’s and have established its just a thing with these phones.

The entire upper left half side of the screen gets quite green on grey backgrounds when the phone is hot.

Eg, have it on charge till it warms up a bit, night shift on, and use it in dark mode, then go to a page like the macrumours forum or settings - something thats grey, you should notice the discolouration. Even at higher brightness levels but very obvious at 50% or lower.

Not a big deal and it probably varies depending on the uniformity of your panel - but interested to see if anyone else has picked up on this.

This was also an issue on previous generation phones but I have noticed that it seems a bit more prominent and along the left side of the display in the 15 Pro Max. Uniformity seems ok otherwise and I limit charge to 80% unless I’m going out for a long day, so hopefully that reduces any unnecessary heat and damage/wear from that section of the OLED display being heated up.

I hadnt noticed it on previous phones, went through a lot of 15s though and they all showed the same thing regardless of panel type.

Blueish sorta tint on the left side starting near the volume buttons which becomes apparent when the phone warms up. Turns out thats where the mainboard is so probably has something to do with the heating issues we’ve seen with the 15s.

Otherwise uniformity in normal conditions is great.

Wonder if it can be mitigated through software or if theres something internally that is making this happen. Doesnt seem like OLED lottery to me

Can’t get my 15 Pro to even get warm, let alone hot. But alas, no green screen issues.

Heres the 15, struggling to upload the 14 due to image size restrictions? Even though its only 400kb haha

Not this is only visible when it warms up (hence im running a benchmark to emulate it) + on greys in low light. I think I had true tone on too

Exact same on my Pro Max. Pretty sure it’s just how these are.

I have not experienced this. Thank you for sharing.

Is this 15 or 15 pro? My 15 pro is doing same thing. Had it restoring a backup all day and got very hot, now upper left side of screen green cause of the chip heat.

Is it permanent or does it go away and in your experience do all 15 pros do it or should I ask for a new replacement?

Shame that they designed it so bad. I’d imagine this could be a problem for those using phone for gaming.

15 pro. I went through way too many returns and they all did the same thing to varying degrees - it’s definitely not worth the hassle of a replacement IMO. It goes away as soon as the phone cools down and I’ve never noticed it during normal use

When was this and how many did you go through? Just wondering if they may have fixed it over time. Hope mine goes away and the long heat hasn’t damaged it forever

I went through probably 6-7 back in Oct-Dec, would defs not recommend it.

If the phones cooled down and you can still obviously see the same green tint in the same spot then maybe its worth a swap, really just depends on the severity.

To be clear, I can and could see a tint on all the ones I went through, but its under very specific conditions - grey background, night shift on, higher brightness. That’s just the nature of OLED wafers and its amplified by heat
