Has anyone one else notice a delay when putting iPhone X to sleep?

Disable Apple Pay and the delay goes away.

The delay is essentially waiting to see if you click a second time for Apple Pay. Yah, it’s a bit annoying.

I disabled it since I have my Apple Watch for Apple Pay so the delay is unnecessary redundant annoyance.
