I ordered a 1.3ghz 256gb silver Macbook in late April from Adorama. It is still back ordered.

I called them today to see if they had any idea when they would ship, and they didn't have any answers. They couldn't even tell me if any of their Macbooks have shipped yet.

I have noticed more and more 3rd party sellers have or are getting their BTO models in stock (macconnections as an example).

I was just curious if anyone one else has ordered from Adorama and seen their device ship. I would hate to cancel my order and then have to start again from the back of the line.

Instead of asking…buy one you can get your hands on now and cancel your original order.

You're right, I could do that, but I would have to pay significantly more.

Adorama had a pre-sale for the Macbooks that gave a significant discount when paired with Applecare. A lot of people jumped on the deal, I was just curious if anyone had actually seen any of their computers (any configuration, not just BTO).

I considered purchasing through them, but honestly, I wouldn't expect them anytime soon. So I ordered through the Apple store but am still waiting on them too, haha.

What was the discount, exactly?

My order is somewhat complex as I ordered a whole bunch of items (all of them have a discount), but if I was to break out only the Macbook here is what it costs.

From Apple direct:

1.3ghz silver 256gb w/ Applecare = $1798 + $170.81 (WA state sales tax 9.5%)= $1968.81

From Adorama with pre-order deal:

$1660 with overnight shipping.

Savings of $308.81

If I factor in all the discounts on the other items I ordered, it puts my discount ~$600. I consider that to be substantial enough to wait a little while.

BTW Adorama is still doing a deal, but it is different now. The same computer is now $1700, but they are adding in accessories with it. The accessories added are changing regularly. A few days ago they were throwing in the USB-C to USB adapter and a Superdrive. Today it is some sort of photo software package.

So 15%, or an extra 5% off over bestbuy movers coupon. Thanks.

Your state tax is outrageous btw.

I wasn't aware that Bestbuy carried the 1.3ghz BTO models? I don't see them on the website.

As for out state sales tax, yes it is one of the highest in the country, but we do not have a state income tax.
