i was just curious if anyone here and decided they didn’t like their iPhone X and returned it for a different phone or went back to your old iPhone?
I have been debating returning mine the battery life doesn’t seem to be any better then my iPhone 7 Plus and I don’t notice a big difference in interface obviously that never changes it feels like I am using the iPhone 7 still
But whthout a home button.
Also I cannot charge it on my charging pad in my car which really drives me nuts.
Tell me your thoughts on this.

My wife is still assessing. We come from a long line of iPhones and iPads. I was the first to jump ship to a Note 8. I do know she HATES the notch and does nothing but complain about it. Face ID is also getting her frustrated. If she dumps the X, it will be to 8 Plus or the Note 8.

How do you like your Note 8?
How is the battery life wondering if I should try the Note8 again. I had it before but never really tried it because I was so set on getting the iPhone X consumed my thinking.

What exactly is frustrating about Face ID? It works fine for almost everyone I’ve seen. The notch also disappears in daily usage. Much ado about nothing, that notch.

Rather than see what other people have done or tell you to do, why don't you do what YOU or your WIFE wants? If you're not happy with battery, or your wife doesn't like it, swap it and be happy with what you swap to. Chances are you know you'll be downgrading in some other way so that's why you are looking for council. Just do what your gut says.

No plans to return mine yet. Definitely made the right choice for me with the color as well as model of phone. The only noticeable problem for now is the battery life (about a percent a minute), but will use it for a few more days to see if it improves as I change the settings.

[doublepost=1509913353][/doublepost]Why would you not use the regular car charger in your car? Everything I have read says the battery lasts longer so I don't know about that. Maybe it's just not the phone for you. If I felt it was not an improvement I would return it.

Um, yes. That is what we are doing.

FaceID has been improving the more I use it. Yesterday it had a hard time with unlocking when my hand was near my face. Today it seems to underand that it is me sitting lazily at the desk, and unlocks.

Same here for me... The first day I had the iPhone X it would not open for me when I had my chin resting on my hand being lazy at my desk. Today I've noticed that it works fine.

I have also noticed it getting better with my sunglasses as well.

Not reliable for her in low light or bright glare. Does not unlock in horizontal mode. She does a lot of driving for her job and mounts the phone sideways for navigation. Personal preference, she just hates the notch. I don't think it disappears; a person just resigns themselves to it.

I really like the Note 8. Battery life is on par with my iPhone 7 plus. Took me a few hours of tutorials to learn Android and Samsung, but now I think it might be hard to go back to iOS. Love the little things that make it a great phone to use.

I tried it when it came out. I loved it but it proved impossible to sync music from iTunes so I returned it. Now I have the X am am loving it. The size of the screen reminds me a lot of the Note 8.

Yesterday I returned the pre-order for a new unit because mine wasn't functioning properly. At this moment I am test driving it through this week to see if frustrations are just a honeymoon effect from it being new but so far I want to return it and get an 8. I have already made it my tertiary phone. It's not daily driver friendly. Lacking the home button has been driving me nuts, it's caused a lot of inefficiency for my daily use. Personal opinion but gesturing is very tasking thus far. I have to manipulate constantly to accomplish goals versus having a dedicated position to navigate around with. I was very very hopeful they would have incorporated the invisible home button like Samsung did. I have a Note8 for my secondary and have switched back to my 7 for the primary. The notch, again personal thought, is extremely distracting. When I unlock the phone all I see is the fade of the lock screen upwards and the notch fills in like a tumor at the top that carries through most of my experience with it. Side note Instagram didn't fully optimize for this new phone, if you change the volume the bar is at the top right across the notch, kind of funny. Doesn't affect anything just a little bug. FaceID has been decent on this replacement though.
[doublepost=1509917366][/doublepost]I'm in the minor group that wouldn't mind having a rotatable home screen. I'd like to have an easier way to lock the orientation the phone is displaying, not be forced to lock it in portrait.

I’m not returning mine, but I am going to get a 8+ as my daily driver. A few little things bug me enough about the X to warrant this. Face ID clearly hates my face. It’s slow slow, doesn’t unlock more than half the time, doesn’t unlock at all if I’m even a little off axis, or if it’s laid flat. That last one I can forgive as that might be pushing the tech but in general it just doesn’t work for me. I’ve also reset it 20+ times with the same result.

The screen is great but coming from an X the aspect ratio bugs me. IMO it would have been a great size if it was the same phone but wider.

Battery life seems shocking to me. I’m barely getting through a day. This is a huge dealbreaker coming from a plus which had stupidly good life.

However the screen size does have a trade off in overall size so is good for when I want something much less intrusive in the clothes I’m wearing.

So I’ll keep it for those occasions and use the 8 plus as the daily. Hopefully if they release a X plus then that will solve the problem and maybe Face ID will work better too.

I love my note 8. You can’t go wrong with it at all

It’s a beautiful phone. My only gripe is that Google Play Music, which is the default music player for Samsung now — is a buggy nightmare for me. It just doesn’t work well for me with purchased music and seems very geared toward getting you to forgo music purchases for a subscription.

Anyway, I think I’m returning my unopened iPhone X because once I saw it person at the store I decided I like the white/silver better. Since those aren’t in stock, I guess I’ll wait for a bit.

My friend was outdoors all day here in Florida. There was some issues with him wearing both a hat and sunglasses outside.
I told him to report back after a few more days of using FaceID then try the hat and sunglasses to see just how good it does improve.

I’m returning mine. Just not getting on with Face ID... have reset it to no change. I’ll try again next year with updated models. For the amount it costs I expect close to flawless, and it’s about 50/50 if it works. Hanging on to my 5s for now, though could also be tempted with an updated SE if they update that before the next X revision, because I prefer that size phone to hold.
