I've deliberately avoided pluralizing the iPhone 6 in text because I knew someone would make such a comment. Tell me, what do you call more than one iPhone 6?

iPhone6's. It may be grammatically incorrect, but there are other accepted occasions where apostrophes are used to prevent confusion, e.g. a's, b's and c's or do's and don'ts.

And the metal-backed original iPhone is as slippery as the 6/6+ so that throws the "Apple should have made it less droppable" argument out of the window.
How does Apple previously making a slippery phone throw out the argument that the iPhone 6 shouldn't be both slippery and fragile?

iPhone 6es.

Then, iPhone 6ses. ;)

I'd just write iPhone 6, or "iPhone 6 units." It used to be better when Apple used S instead of s. "I had two iPhone 6" is the lesser evil then saying "I had two iPhone 6's," which makes you sound stupid because too many people make this grammar mistake.

Too many people are going from something newer than the original iPhone to the 6/6+ and concluding that Apple made a design mistake because they're not aware that the original iPhone was as slippery as the 6/6+. If you think iPhones are too slippery and fragile when carried naked, that's simply your opinion. I've never shattered an iPhone carrying it naked.

Wow, two already! You either have the worst luck, are the clumsiest person or are the most careless person. Time for a case, you think? Loyal or not, Apple is going to make you pay replacement cost unfortunately. Good luck with your future phones!

Agreed. You definitely need to be more careful, OP.

I've had every model of the iPhone (except the C) and the iPhone 6 is the first one I've shattered. It also happens to be the first one on which I used a tempered glass screen protector. Nothing is certain.

So you had a glass on it when it dropped? Must have been a hard drop. There is always a first time for everything, every phone is prone to shattering when dropped.

I thought plural word for iPhone is iPhones and type of the iPhone does not have to be plural.

Example I have two iPhones ( type) 6

You're correct. I was suggesting a novel pluralization. ;)

I usually say "I bought 3 of the iPhone 6+ and 2 of the iPhone 6"

Or some such.

There are a lot of nice slim phone cases out there that don't add a lot of bulk to your phone. I am
ordering another case for my gold iPhone 6S+. It's a clear UAG. As others have said you should
get a tempered glass screen protector. They do not interfere with 3d touch.

SORRY, OLD POST AND MISLEADING TITLE! LOL!

I love the size of my 6S+, but for me I think a tough case would add too much bulk and weight to an already large phone. I picked up a fairly slim protective case the first night I got the phone and even that was too bulky.

I feel like the Apple leather case is perfect. I have a brown one from last years models. It feels much better in my hand than the phone does naked (I agree that they're slippery naked), and I think it would protect the phone from many drop scenarios. I need the ports open at the bottom for a lighting accessory I own. I have a tempered glass screen protector on the front that feels as smooth and premium as the actual display.
