Has anyone successfully install Windows on the first try?

wow, i didn't know there were so many issues with this.

i've installed win7 home basic on each machine successfully on the first try.

-21.5"/3.06 c2d/ imac
-15" mbp 2.53 c2d and 15" 2.4 i5
 
I had no problem installing XP on my C2D iMac, but I can't get it to take on my i7 MBP. It hangs on the screen asking whether I want to create or join a network group. Clearly it hates the MBP's ethernet hardware. I'll try again, then switch to WiFi.
