Has anyone switched from Verizon recently?

My Verizon 2-year contract is up in less than 3 weeks.

To end my VZW service, do I need to call ahead and let them know? Or, can I just call any day (before my new billing cycle starts of course) and end the service right away?

Did you go before the VZW contract expiration date? You must have, to avoid another new month starting with VZW, right?

Shouldn't matter- the month should be pro-rated.
