After a couple days of use here are a couple observations:

1. The bumper is too thick for my liking. Too wide to hold comfortably for me.
2. There is some give in the power button which causes the top lip to push against my Zagg shield and made it bubble a bit.

If you have bigger hands and don't use a screen protector, it's a great case that I would recommend. If you don't then I would say look else where.

here's what i use. bought it for AED 20. thats approx US$ 5.479.
Been using it for about a month now. no complaints. a LOT of ppl have asked me where i got it from n its got quite a lot of attention.
its plastic (ofcourse), fits tight. no finger smudge marks when holding it.

well, the case looks nice, i like the transparent color.:D

I bought the Impact Mesh Smoke color today and I noticed the top of the case does not fit tight. The bottom fits nice and snug, but the top rocks back and forth from front to back. Anyone else own this case and have that problem as well? Or maybe I just have a defective unit.

I really like this case, so I hope it's just defective and I can just exchange it for a new one.

I've had the clear case on my white i5, only dropped the phone and case once and neither had a scratch. The clear does get a yellow tinge to it after a while. Tech21 just came out with a screen protector with help from BASF, I've been unsure of whether or not to add a screen protector, not sure how well the case will fit with it on.

have it and love it!

I just retired my Speck Candy Shell case because the rubber was coming off and the piece under the home button had snapped.

This was the only other case that I could find (quickly) that actually wraps completely around the front of the phone without adding too much bulk.

I love the slim design of the front - the low profile edges are really smooth and make the phone feel a lot more true to size than the Speck Candy Shell case.

The case itself is soft and bendable without feeling cheap or like its going to degrade / fall off.

I haven't dropped my phone yet, but the case definitely fits snugly and feels like it will absorb quite a bit of shock if dropped on the corners / back.

I've only had this case for a week, but I'd definitely buy another because it looks and feels great.

The buttons are a little harder to press, but not in an intrusive way at all. I kind of like it, my purse doesn't wake my phone now.

Yup I tried several and the same problem. It bugged me so I gave up.

Tried an impact shell at the Apple store. My first impression was better than expected. It did not add that much bulk, and looks like it offers good protection. The fit was excellent, although I do have a skin on which may have made it tighter than other fits.

The button presses were slightly muted for the sleep/wake button, and more so for the volume buttons. It didn't stop me from ordering the case. If you use the volume buttons a lot, you may want to think twice. But I think the sleep/wake button is fine.

How does the Impact Mesh work with screen protectors?

I've read a few places that the Impact Mesh will push up screen protectors or cause bubbles. I have ordered the Spigen GLAS.tR NANO SLIM and want a case that will work with it.

Ordered a Tech 21 clear impact shell. Got it on eBay for $14.99 which is less than half price. Haven't put it on and used it yet, but it seems like a legit case. My room mate got the Tech 21 "smoke" colored band, with the removable back. He loves it. Seems like a good shock protection case. I love the orange bumper running around the edges.

Hi! I have the Impact Mesh (in blue on a white iphone 5--very pretty) and I'm using it with Tech21's Impact Shield screen protector. They work together perfectly--no bubbling or lifting up of edges or anything. I am very happy with the combo.

Hey! :)

I've decided to use the Spigen GLAS.tR NANO SLIM instead of the Impact Shield. I've read (can't find it right now to provide a link) that the Spigen and Impact Shield were different sizes and I've read a few posts that Impact Mesh sometimes doesn't play nice with screen protectors.

Before buying the Impact Mesh case I want to make sure it will be okay with the Spigen screen protector. (My iPhone hasn't shipped yet, I might have a lot of time to research this, lol.)

Hi all -

I just wanted to relate a really great customer service experience I had with Tech 21. Last week, I bought the clear Impact Mesh case from the Apple Store, and when I got home, I realized that at the bottom, it had one long open cutout, rather than the 3 separate cutouts like it showed on their site.

I sent a message over to them, just to ask if there was a newer version of the case, and if they knew whether the Apple retail stores would be carrying them. and they told me that the older version of the case had the older cutout, and they had fixed this in a revision to the case.

They then proceeded to tell me that they would send me the newer version of the case, at no cost to me. I definitely wasn't expecting this at all. They said the case would be dispatched on the 10th and arrive in 5-10 business days...it actually arrived today.

I'm really pleased with the level of service the company provided. And incidentally, I LOVE the feel of this case on my iPhone 5s. The TPU makes it feel like a hard case, and the case does a great job of making my phone feel like it's protected, but not bulky. And from a cosmetic standpoint, the orange D30 band looks pretty sweet surrounding the white front of the phone. :)

What case is that? Where did you get it?

I had the glass t.r on my iphone 5 with the impact mesh and the only problem was and you will get this with all slim cases is that you lose out on the lay-on table protection. But idk about the nano. My nano should be here Saturday so I can tell.

Yes, the Impact Mesh for the iPhone 5 is a really great case...and Tech21 has stellar customer service. I had an issue with a case for another phone (android...gasp!) a few years ago, and they totally came through for me.

Bringing an old thread back to life. I just bought an Impact Mesh today and the screen protector I bought does not go completely to the edge of the glass, so there is a small gap between the screen protector and the case. I won't have to worry about the protector getting pushed.

On a side note, to show me the case the Apple Store guy got one of the store phones, put it in an Impact Mesh case, and proceeded to drop it from chest height three times. The last time it hit flat face down which is how I broke the screen on my iPhone 5 while it was in a Candyshell Grip case. It made me cringe and I don't think it was my imagination that he picked it up and turned it over a little more slowly than the other drops as if he was also expecting the worst. I returned an Apple leather case that was starting to stretch / deform.

Could someone post a pic if the space gray in a clear impact mesh ? I've yet to see this and I'm trying to deceide what color to get.
Thanks

I have this case in the blue color for my Space Gray iPhone.

I'm not normally into bright colors. I usually choose black cases for all my electronic devices. This time I wanted something that will draw my eye to my phone when it is laying around all my other devices. I also read reviews that the clear case yellows over time. I also don't care too much for the bright orange strip around the edge. The blue hides that pretty well.

I love this case. It is very grippy in my hand and doesn't slide around on solid surfaces like my Otterbox Commuter case did. It's much thinner too. I haven't had a serious drop yet. So I cannot say how well it protects.

An associate at work has the same case as I do and he said he dropped his iPhone and it never bounced when it hit the ground.

I'm using the clear one with the silver 5S. It made the phone a lot thicker and wider than using it naked but it offers that feel of protection that an otter box might provide without the huge thickness. I have to admit that the orange accents on the side from the D30 material makes it look really good though.

I think the smoke looks best with the space grey. I have seen a lot of people using that colorway

I completely agree with you, I used the Candy Shell and I had the same issues with it, so I had to retire it. The Tech21 Impact Trio seems to fit better, and I think it will last better than the Speck. I have the one with the updated version, so the bottom part seems to be well protected, not flimsy at all. So far so good, I've had it for about a week.

Looks amazing! I love Tech21 cases!
