hi, i was reading on some other forum about the new intel macs the other day and read that the intel imac has a socket style cpu, not soldered into the logic board like the previous macs. Has anyone seen or tried installing a faster CPU. I think that I read a post about a person buying a mac mini with the 1.5 core solo and upgrading it to a 2.16 core duo. In any case, I look forward to hearing more about this.

regardless, i think that after i have had my intel imac a few years, i definately might be tempted to pop in a faster cpu, especially when considering how fast processors tend to drop in price.
