I know that Apple always "recommends" using their OEM accessories... but has anyone mixed and matched with the new MBP M1pro/max MagSafe wire? Noticed there are quite a few aftermarket charger blocks that are a bit more uhh portable... for example the Anker Nano II

The only report I've seen is that MagSafe charging only works with the new power bricks, but others may want to try it.

Will the MagSafe cable work with an Anker GAN 65w charger? It looks like a 5w iphone charger, but a little bigger.

I just order that exact charger and have it coming tmr, ill post an update then
That is perfect, mine arrives on Wednesday, those GAN chargers look superb and a bit less to lug around than Apple's big white OEM charger that came with the 14" MacBook.

Yeah the size difference is pretty wild.. and just to confirm, it appears the magsafe cord is working with the Anker Nano... but I'm currently on the base Pro... wonder if it would be sufficient for the Max since that comes standard with the 96w charger?

Anyone here have a Max and Nano?

These really look awesome, surprised Apple does not have one available.

Just to add, the charge does get ridiculous hot when it's charging... when computer is 100% charged it's just warm but if it's charging I don't think I'd be able to grip it in my palm for more than a few seconds...
I wonder if the extra heat is inherent to GAN chargers, sounds like it could be?
