I see it as adopting the new Apple naming conventions. Which would have it always called iPhone Air.As Tim introduced it, he said it was new to the iPhone line. It’ll follow the ultra naming convention and be called iPhone Air 2 next year and 3 the year after.
Notice the Galaxy S25 Edge beats out the iPhone Air in two other areas as well. Edge has significantly larger battery and larger display. Its already been done.
S25 Edge: (158.2 x 75.6 x 5.8 mm) 163 grams.
iPhone Air: (156.2 × 74.7 × 5.64 mm) 165 grams.
If Samsung can do it, so can Apple.
I'll bet you a whole American dollar that it can, and will.It cannot really get much thinner I wouldn't think.
If youre comparing 26mm of the pro to the air. You aren’t loosing anything. How is that inferior? It’s not that. The air has inferior battery and cameras. It also has a smaller screen. That is why I got the 17 PM. Had the 17 plus been an option, I might have gone for that.

Galaxy Edge Li-lon 3900 mAh Battery - 6.7" Display
iPhone Air Li-lon 3149 mAh - 6.5" Display
At this point Samsung Edge puts the Air to shame.
At my local Apple stores (3) some of the Pros are readily available and while most of the Airs are available, there is a wait for the White versions. When I picked up my Air at 8pm on launch day I asked if any Pros were available and was told there was a Blue Pro available at one of the other local stores. Clearly the Pro versions are harder to get, but both the Air and Pros are more available early on than in previous years. At my local Apple Store iPhone Air is immediately available and has been for the last three days.
The delivery dates for other models varies from 7 to 12 days. It’s interesting that the Air isn't as popular as it seemed they might be.
As the novelty wears off in coming months it will be interesting to witness the fate of this model.
